Katherine Pasquale

Katherine Helen Pasquale, age 97, died February 11th, 2021 in Palisade, Colorado of natural causes after many years of battling dementia.

She was born August 13th, 1923 in Paonia, Colorado to the late Chris Minerich & Katherine Mihelich. Katherine had 5 siblings that preceded her death- Dolly Sigler, Bill, Johnny, Chris and Leo Minerich.

Katherine attended Colorado Mesa University where she majored in business. She later went on to work as a secretary for many years to George Cammarota, who became a dear friend to her. After she retired, she went back to work for the Winnemucca Chamber of Commerce until she retired again at age 76 to move to Utah to finish raising her grandchildren.

Katherine married her first husband, Jake Distel, and they spent 22 years together and were blessed with 3 sons. After they divorced, she met and married the love of her life Albert Pasquale in June of 1970.

Katherine was a devout Catholic and she always kept her faith through all things in life.

To say Katherine was loved by all is an understatement. Not only was she a mother to her 3 sons, but she also went on to raise 3 of her grandchildren. She was always willing to help anyone in need-especially her grandchildren’s friends. During her many years of life, she touched more lives than could ever be counted. Every person that crossed her path instantly became family and she loved every single one of them.

Katherine enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. She was an incredible cook and baker. Anyone who met her can attest to the famous cinnamon rolls! She spent most her time watching the news, yelling at the Denver Broncos and enjoying her coffee in the yard with her dogs.

Katherine was preceded in death by all 3 of her sons. Gary Leo Distel, Terrance Christopher Distel and Jack Edward Distel. As well as her both of her husbands, Jake Andrew Distel and Albert Ernest Pasquale.

She is survived by her grandchildren that she raised as her children, Kirk Bradley Distel, Chandal Miriah (Chuck) Savage and Dayne Andrew Distel.

As well as her other grandchildren, James (Amanda) Culver, Jessica (Nick) Fenner, Ariel Annie Distel, and Sandra Marie Eidenier and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by 2 daughter in laws, Susan Distel and Patricia Distel.

Last but not least, she will be dearly missed by her beloved “George” girls- Gayle, Pam, Jaelene & Sandra as well as their brother Greg. This was her second family and she loved them as her own children.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Utah.
