Keith Richardson

Don KEITH Richardson passed away on April 23, 2021 in Grand Junction, Colorado after a brief illness.  He was 88. Keith was born on January 25, 1933 in Slaton, Texas to David Stanton (DS) Richardson and Minnie Lucille (Keith) Richardson.  He served in the US Army in Korea with the 8th division from 1953 thru 1954 and honorably discharged at rank of Staff Sargent.  He married Marjorie Ann Clark on April 1, 1956 in Odessa, Texas.

Keith lived a life that exemplified Christ.  He loved his family.  He taught by example how to love and care, work hard and treat others with kindness and compassion.  He never met a stranger and went out of his way to help anyone at any time for any reason.  It was not obligation, but character and love that drove him to help others.  His vast knowledge of how to build or fix something was always called upon by those who knew him.  People called or came by just for a bit of help or wisdom and a story or two. “Use your head for something other than a hat rack,” he would say.  He was known all over for his knowledge of automobiles.  But mostly he was known for his musical and singing ability.  You always knew who was playing the guitar, with a style all his own and was famous for his steel guitar.   He was happiest when he was playing his guitars and singing gospel music at church, or with family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew him or even came into contact with this wonderful man of God.

He is survived by his five children.  Kathy Richardson, Tammie Richardson, Kay (David) Hilgenfeld, Michael (Runako) Richardson of Mansfield, Texas and Lisa Richardson, 9 Grand Children, and 14 Great  Grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, his grandson Aaron and his brother David.

Graveside services will be May 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.  Arrangements by Brown’s Funeral Service
