Keith Schaefer

KEITH F. SCHAEFER – FRUITA

Keith was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 20, 1943. He was raised in Deephaven, MN and enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserves immediately after high school graduation in June, 1961. He attended Mankato State College and served actively in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1967.

His family often spent ski vacations in Colorado and as a teenager, Keith made the decision to live in Colorado.

Keith and Sally met on Thanksgiving Day, 1957 and married on September 30, 1967. They spent their honeymoon driving from Minnesota to Denver where they were to reside for 20 years.

They made the move to Summit County in 1987 and resided there until they moved to Fruita in the fall of 2012. Keith was an avid golfer and delighted in the fact that he was only minutes from Adobe Creek Golf Course where he could play nearly year round.

He was a Real Estate Broker/Realtor for nearly 50 years and was in semi-retirement when he passed.

Keith is survived by Sally, his brothers Craig of Denver, CO, Scott (Ana-Maria) of Avon, CO, and Drew of Del Norte, CO.
