Kenneth Eugene Seeley Jr., “Kenny”, August 25, 1959 – August 6, 2024.
Kenneth E. Seeley, Jr. of Grand Junction, CO passed away August 6th, 2024, at the age of 64 in the comforts of his home. Kenny was born August 25, 1959, to Thelma and “Gene” Seeley. Kenny was a lifelong resident of Mesa County.
After attending Central High School, class of 1978, Kenny entered the workforce. Kenny worked in many trades including operations for School District 51, residential and commercial construction and painting, and most recently as an equipment operator for MA Construction.
On October 27, 1979, he was married to Becky Lancaster and together they had two children Dustin “Dusty” Seeley and Daphny Seeley. A tight knit family, Kenny remained close to the Lancaster’s even through separation.
Later Kenny married Lori Hoyt – Cosslett December 28, 2010, combining two families to include Kenny’s two children and Lori’s two daughters Jordan Lynne Scott (Wall) and Audray Lynne Cosslett.
Kenny, remembered by so many, was kind and easy going. He was a hard worker, always willing to pitch in, and enjoyed everything outdoors. Kenny, the fifth child of six, had fond memories of his childhood with his four sisters: Janet Seeley-Forsman, Lorraine Forsman, Joyce Eiland, Linda Seeley, and his brother Herb Seeley. A close family, they raised their children together going to junior rodeos, team roping, supporting the Mesa County Sherriff’s Posse, and spending time on Pinyon Mesa.
Kenny was an avid hunter and enjoyed guiding on Glade Park. He had his own “hunting holes” that could only be accessed horseback, and he taught his kids how to pack and outfit. With the “rough stock” they frequented it is no wonder they all survived with only a scrape and a scratch; and maybe a wounded ego from time to time. Hunting camp carries fond memories for all, stories were shared, cards were played, and memories were made.
Kenny and Lori began their life together in 2010, they shared many things in common, including hunting stories and playing cards in the evenings. They both truly enjoyed community and the neighbors that surrounded them. They were always lending a hand or enjoying a beverage with a friend.
Kenny is proceeded in death by his parents, Gene and Thelma Seeley and his loving wife Lori Cosslett – Seeley. Survivors include his children Dustin (Brook) Seeley, Daphny Seeley and her son Slater Pace. He is also survived by his 5 siblings, Lori’s two daughters, and their six children.
