Kevin Eugene Thompson

Kevin passed away unexpectedly this August. He was born in Grand Junction, Colorado to Donald and Velta Thompson. Kevin and his brothers Donnie, Ronnie, Randy and Dustin grew up in the Grand Valley and Kevin graduated from DeBequeHigh School in 1978. After High School Kevin served in the United States Marines and later enlisted in the Army. After serving Kevin spent most of his life doing what he loved, driving truck.  Those who knew Kevin would surely describe him as an avid Denver Broncos fan, if you saw him out and about he would always be supporting his team wearing their gear. He enjoyed catching their games on TV and in person with his kids and grandkids. What he loved most was family and time with his kids and grandkids, watching sports, traveling, fishing, collecting rocks, cooking, playing games or just hanging out. Kevin always made sure to make anyone he met feel welcome and was sure to make you laugh.  Kevin is preceded in death by his parents Donald Sr. and Velta Thompson and his grandson Keagan Heald. He is survived by his children Jacob Kretschman, Kristell (Brian) June, Christopher (Danielle) Thompson, Joshua(Lindsay) Thompson, Kevin (Sam)Thompson, and Samantha (Leroy) Heald, his grandchildren Brayden, Xavier, Madelynn, Braedyn, Kennadi, Christopher, Tegun, Bryce, Gabrielle, Brysyn, Peyton, Sam, Grace, Timothy, Frankie, Ben, Elijah, Daymion, Preston, Ashton, Logan, Camdyn and Jazzlynn, his brothers, many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.  Memorial Services will be held Monday, October 21st, 2024, 3pm, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity or just take time to make memories with your family.
