Kimberly Claire Bartz, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister and Aunt; passed away June 26th, 2021 from a major stroke.
She is survived by her children: Jessica Moreno, Levi Cook and Cheyann Cook, Her Grand children: Helena Moreno, Antoine Moreno and Sade Ademuyiwa, Her Mother: Diane Nydell, her Sisters: Geraldine (Dee Dee) Watkins and Tisha Petelo. She was predeceased by her Brother: Matthew Watkins. She was also a loving and caring wife to Steve Cook.
Kimmie was born February 19th, 1967 and passed at the young age of 54 on June 26th, 2021.
Sweet Kimmie had been fighting most of her life with health conditions, mostly from Fibrolamellar Hepatoma (a mass which grew on her liver and lungs). More recently she had suffered, but survived, multiple strokes. Though she could no longer speak, when she was able to come home from the hospital she was always smiling and happy.
Despite it all, she lived on until her final stroke, and God saw fit to take her home.
Kimmie was a country girl and a horse lover. She loved classic rock and country music. Kimmie was also very artistic and loved to paint. Every holiday season she would paint little rocking horses customized with each family members name and painted especially for them. Her one dream was to own her own Equestrian Ranch to provide horse therapy classes for children. Other dreams she had were to ride horses on the beach, and to swim with dolphins.
For many, she was a safe haven. She was the one person many people went to for advice, tell secrets and vent to. She had such a kind, caring and forgiving heart. She welcomed new friends and took on kids as her own. For many, she was the "mom" they never had.
She believed in treating others as you wish to be treated, and to always be kind.
She was also tough. As the oldest sister of 3 siblings, growing up she was the powerhouse and protector. She will forever be admired for her strength.
All in all, though she will be dearly missed, she is no longer trapped in a body that is in pain. Now, she can ride with the horses in the heavens.
She asked to be cremated, and for some of her ashes to be spread across a horse pasture, and the rest to be placed next to her brother Matthew. Her wishes will granted by the family.
We all love you so much! Ride in peace and paradise!
A memorial service will be held (pending) August 21st, 2021 at her mothers home (Diane Nydell) in Grand Junction, Colorado. For more information please email Kim's daughter Jessica at coachjmoreno7@gmail.com .
