Kimberly Kay Willis, 24, left this world on August 17, 2019 following a drug overdose.
She was born on June 10, 1995 in Grand Junction, Colorado to mother Vonita Willis of Rock Springs, Wyoming. She was raised from age 3 by her grandmother, Sandra Woodard of Grand Junction, Colorado.
She attended Mesa View Elementary, Orchard Mesa Middle School and graduated from R-5 High School in 2013.
In 2013, she was briefly married to Justin Serve and traveled to California and North Carolina.
She was employed in a number of industries and restaurants. She just began employment at a new job the day before her passing.
She enjoyed swimming and basketball as a child and loved writing and drawing throughout her life. She loved all animals and especially loved her companion dog, Koda.
Kimberly was outgoing and collected friends wherever she went. She had a heart of gold and was wise beyond her years.
She is preceded in death by her uncle Ty Willis and great-grandparents Harold and Flossy Eddy.
She is survived by her birth mother, Vonita Willis of Rock Springs, Wyo; her legal mother, Sandra Woodard of Grand Junction, CO; a brother Adam Angelo of Grand Junction; sisters Elizabeth Willis of Rock Springs, Wyo. and Sidney Willis of Grand Junction, CO; aunts Lori Hampton and Patti Heartsill of Grand Junction; uncle Craig Heartsill of Grand Junction, CO; cousins Jasmine and Tyler Willis and Christopher and Sean Willis all of Grand Junction, CO; nephews Tristan Willis and Peyton Angelo of Grand Junction, CO, Haiden and Breckland Willis of Rock Springs, Wyo as well as other various aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services will be held August 28, 2019 at Brown’s Cremation Service, 904 N. 7th St, Grand Jct. at 6:30 pm.
