Kristin Michelle Trezise, 56, passed away surrounded by family October 21, 2022. She was born November 5, 1965 in Mesa, Arizona to Marilynn Melendy and Larry Trezise.
Kris loved to help and teach others. She helped with missionary groups in Budapest, Hungary for many years. She moved back to Grand Junction to help take care of her mother and fill her absence at New Horizons Christian School. For the last 19 years she has filled in some capacity a position at a school, ether as the head of school or a teacher. Most recently as a 5th grade teacher at Caprock Academy. She led by example to her students and peers and never stopped her pursuit to learn. She held the same standards for her students that she held for herself. These same standards made her a great friend and mentor to many.
Kris impacted a number of people we will never know, but through all her travels and years of teaching Kris has made so many close friends. She was loved by them dearly and loved them even more.
Kris is preceded in death by her mother; Marilynn Melendy. And grandparents; Warren and Dora Griggs. She is survived by her father; Thomas Melendy of Grand Junction. Her siblings; Larry (Garry) Trezise of Palm Springs, CA, Tim (Barb) Melendy of Marion, KS, and Shana (Greg) Wentzel of Grand Junction. Her aunts and uncles; Bill (Sylvia) Griggs of Hutchinson, KS, Steve (Penny) Griggs of Hutchinson, KS, And Perry (Kay Lee) Melendy of Palisade, CO. She is also survived by her nephew Bradley (Kellie) Martinez, and their children Robert, Millanya and expecting baby, Charlie, in November. Along with many other nieces and nephews that she loved.
A celebration of life will be held December 3, 2022 at Caprock Academy at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope West or Caprock Academy to continue to better service the students of her school.
