Lavina W. Blehm, 93, passed peacefully on January 26 while under the gentle care of Hope West Hospice. Preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. Blehm, and son, Dr. Darrel R. Blehm, she was surrounded in her final days by her loving family, including her surviving son Don Blehm of Pueblo, Colorado. Lavina lived for the past 8 years among many retired friends and caring staff at the Retreat at Harbor Cove. For most of her adult life, she operated a commercial business as a professional tailoress, first in the Pacific Northwest and then in Grand Junction. Lavina will be remembered for her skill as a tailor, her devotion in maintaining her exquisite flower gardens, and her joy in opening her home as a gathering place for family and friends, old and new. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Orchard Mesa Municipal Cemetery at 2620 Legacy Way. Contributions in her memory can be made to Hope West Hospice
