Lawrence Ruddell

October 24, 1944 — July 31, 2017

Lawrence Scott Ruddell, age 72 of Clifton, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at Hope West Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, CO

Born October 24, 1944 in Rodgers, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ruby Smith Ruddell.

Scott was proud of his Native American heritage and was a card carrying member of the Chickasaw Nation.

For the first three years Scott was in Colorado, he panned for gold in the Buena Vista area and later had his own dredge.

Before his retirement in 2010, he had been a truck driver for over 50  years. He had been a member of the Pentacostal - Assembly of God Church.

He loved going on walks, and finding interesting rocks.  He often attended Chickasaw gatherings, and became very good at creating beautiful Dream Catchers using Elk Horns, turquoise, amber and charms.

Scott was a soft spoken man, easy going and patient with people. He would often lift your spirits by showing you a different way to look at your situation. He frequently exhibited his dry sense of humor, sometimes would tease, and always had a lot of love to give.

He is survived by his wife, Therese of Clifton, Co, a son, Wade (Lourdes) Ruddell, of Oklahoma City, a daughter, Andrea Olson, (Duane) of Georgia, three step-sons, Beau Jack (Kris) Lohrer, of Casper, Wy, Ryan Gene Lohrer, of San Antonio, TX, and Toby Jake Lohrer, ofGlenwood Springs, CO, one brother Jerry (Cindy) Ruddell, of Davenport, Iowa, one sister, Jackie (Ray) Buttram, of Arkansas, twelve grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Also left behind, but not forgotten, his constant K9 companion “Hattie”.

In keeping with Scott’s wishes, no services will be held.
