Lela ‘Faye’ Morgan

In Loving Memory

Your life was a Blessing Your Memory a Treasure

You’re Loved Beyond Words And Missed Beyond Measure

Lela ”Faye” Morgan was a beloved wife, mother, and friend to many, who never let distance define her love. Faye would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call she couldn’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign on bonus, a place at Our Heavenly Father’s feet and a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, singing, gardening and reading to her heart’s content. Music, love, and laughter are guaranteed. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family, and friends. She worked selflessly her whole life and made a difference in the lives of many.

She was born April 15, 1942 and passed away peacefully on January 9, 2017 at the age of 74. She was a resident of Grand Junction, Colorado, where she spent the last portion of her life enjoying the mountain scenery and endless sunshine. She was a native of Arkansas and a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Arkansas. She grew up in the Arkansas plains and she called the First Church of the Nazarene in Jacksonville her home church. She loved to sew, quilt, arrange flowers and was passionate about singing and dancing with her friends. She was an amazing singer and guitarist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dotson L. Morgan, Jr., step-daughter Rebecca M. Roubique, and her parents Bill Bailey and Esther Witcher. She is survived by her children Elizabeth (Dale) Cornelius, Joe (Sheila) Morgan, Lisa (Dan) Cowan, Paul (Julianne) Morgan, Luke Morgan (Mel Smith); Four step-children Michael Morgan (Cari Zansler), John Morgan (Nanette Murtagh) and Mary (Neil) Dixon; Fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

Her love for the Lord was the driving force for everything she did. He gave her the grace, mercy, and selflessness to always strive to love her family and others. She would like her loved ones to know that her greatest successes and joys were her love for her children and her family.

There will be a memorial service at Hope West Care Center in Grand Junction, CO, presided by Scott Hogue.

Special thanks to Faye’s Hospice Care Team, Bonnie, Charlotte, Cindy, Sylvia and Scott. Your kindness and care has not gone unappreciated.
