Leonard Dale Brest, age 72 died October 5, 2021. Born July 3, 1949 in Oregon, he was the son of the late John W. Brest and F. Gay (Clymer) Cherveny. Leonard graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1967. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served four years, one of which was in Vietnam. He married his wife, Rhonda (Koestel) Brest in 1977. Leonard was employed as a Diesel Mechanic in the Oil and Gas Industry for 40 years. He also worked along side his wife, Rhonda, in their business, Intermountain Plasma, Inc., for 26 years until they sold it in September 2020. Leonard loved all things cars, engines and motors. He enjoyed drag car racing, rebuilding and tinkering with his 1965 Chevelle, 4-wheeling in his beloved Jeep and on his ATVs. He cherished drives all over Pinyon Mesa (his lifetime stomping ground) and virtually anything that involved cars and outdoors. Leonard deeply loved his wife, daughters, grandchildren and precious dog Bella. He was a hardworking, dependable family man who was loyal and honest to a fault. He was a friendly, funny, easy-going husband, father and friend.
Leonard was preceded in death by his father John W. Brest and mother F. Gay Cherveny. Leonard is survived by his wife, Rhonda Brest, daughter’s, Megan (Seth) Luksha, Lindsay (Ryan) Julson, grandchildren Hunter Savageau, Harper Luksha, Jace and Kade Julson, sisters, Judy Stanton, Enid Reece and Renee Brest, mother-in-law, Margaret Koestel and brother-in-law Vernon Koestel.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 15, 2021, 10:30 AM at Stillwater Cowboy Church, 968 19 Road, Fruita, CO. Please dress casually!
