Leslie Bender

Bender, Leslie, JR Leslie Bender, Jr, 87, passed away on March 28 in Grand Junction, CO. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia and son, Chris. He is survived by his son Leslie Bender, III, daughter Tori Salamun and son, Matt Bender. Les retired from the US Navy in 1972 as a Lieutenant Commander after 27 years of faithful service. Les was awarded numerous Medals for his remarkable service and the Bender Mountains in Antarctica were named in his honor. Les is also survived by his eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He will be fondly and lovingly remembered by all that knew him.
