Linda Sue Doolittle was born on September 3, 1953 in Craig, CO to her parents Duane James and Velma Kay Vroman. She passed away peacefully at home with her daughters on the morning of Saturday October 14, 2023 in Grand Junction, CO after a fierce battle with cancer.
Linda spent most of her life in Grand Junction where she attended Tope Elementary, Grand Junction High School, and obtained her Associates Degree. She was a Secretary for the Colorado Foundation for Medical Care, a bookkeeper, a family manager, a stay-at-home-mother, a homemaker, an end-of-life caretaker for her mother, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, and overall whatever role she needed to fill.
Linda was a loving, amazing, dependable, caring, devoted, generous, compassionate, and empathetic woman, Mother, Nanna, Sister, Aunt, Daughter, Wife, Cousin, Niece, Mother-In-Law, and Friend with an incredible ability to build relationships with every person she met, and she loved her family most of all.
She loved her daughters, her siblings, her grandbabies, family gatherings, telling stories, great food, playing cards, laughing as often as she could, gardening, shopping, helping whoever she could, camping, fishing, driving, heirlooms, antiques, sneaking sweets to her grandkids, and the Denver Broncos.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Duane and Velma, the father of her children, Larry Doolittle (Marriage April 6, 1974-2014), and her Grandmother, Minnie (Nan), and her beloved Uncle Philip Ellgen.
The family she leaves behind that love her so much and will miss her greatly: her siblings Kathy Tompkins, Danny Vroman, Scott Vroman, and Michael Vroman; her three daughters, Julie Anne Hays (David Hays 1970-1972), Deanna Kay Doolittle-Ackerman, and Kimber Lee Doolittle (Larry Doolittle 1974- 2014). Her grandchildren that she adored: Ashley, Joshua (Julie); Jarrad, Jacob, Mariella, Magdalene, and Searlait (Deanna), and Dalton, Cooper, Maddox, and Gage (Kimber); and Great Grandchildren Gabriel, Milo, and Elias (Ashley); several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Our family would like to thank Hope West Hospice for their care of our Mom in her final days and Brown’s Funeral Service for their kindness and compassionate service to our family.
Condolences, memories, and pictures can be shared on the Brown’s Funeral Service website. She was laid to rest in the Vroman family plot in the Clover Cemetery in Collbran, Colorado on October 17th, 2023.
