Lisa Hensley Brammeier of Grand Junction, Colorado passed away December 5,2019 after a sudden illness.
Lisa was born in Welch, West Virginia on October 7, 1960 to Wayne and Claudine Hensley. Lisa grew up in Gary, West Virginia as a coal miner’s daughter. She was raised with southern family values that she kept and passed on to her children. She was our angel on earth 59 years.
Lisa moved to Florida in 1991 where she met the love of her Life William “Bill” Brammeier, whom she adored for 28 years. Lisa and Bill loved taking cruises and traveling with their new trailer. They had their dream trip just last summer seeing the Ark in Kentucky and visiting Lisa’s family in the Smokey Mountains.
Lisa was the center so many people’s lives. Her infectious laughter could brighten an entire room full of people. Lisa loved to cook and entertain for all her family and friends. She made every holiday special for her kids and grandkids. She was on the praise team at Fruita Assembly of God, which she started attending with her adopted mom Barbra Pinkerton and sisters from another mister Beverly Clark and Marylou Hampson.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Claudine Hensley and her brother Kenneth Hensley.
She is also survived by her husband of 28 years Bill Brammeier and her two amazing sons Billy Brammeier Jr and wife Nita of Grand Junction, Dustin Simmons and wife Anne of Grand Junction, and her beloved daughter Carla Simmons Yeakle and husband Bobby of Colorado Springs, her sisters Brenda and husband Earnest Day of Bean Station, Tennesee, Jane and her husband Rick Justice of Grand Junction, Christie and husband Brian Jassak of New Hartford, New York, her brothers Lonnie and his wife Regina Hensley of Skygusty, West Virginia; and Gary and his wife Brenda Hensley SR. Lisa is also survived by her special niece Lisa and husband Aaron Geske and Nephew Ricky, both of Grand Junction, Her precious grandchildren, whom she adored, Danielle and husband JayJay Villamena of Santa Maria, California, Megan Fain of Grand Junction, Brandon and wife Morgan Ruffner of Fruita, Kaitlin Yeakle of Colorado Springs, Chloe Ruffner of Grand Junction, Katie Fain of Grand Junction, Natalie Simmons of Florida, Reily Yeakle of Colorado Springs, Sophia Brammeier, Elijah Brammeier, James Simmons, Joseph Geske and Hensley Geske, all from Grand Junction. Lisa was also greatly anticipating the arrival of her first great grandchild, Jamison due in March.
