Loretta Irene Gneiser Thompson, age 82, died the 24th of October, 2023 at Mantey Heights in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Born September 19th,1941 in Fort Morgan, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Merritt and Irene Gneiser.
Loretta graduated from Alameda High School, in Lakewood, Colorado. She was a homemaker and child care provider for most of her life. She also did bookkeeping and other odd jobs.
Loretta enjoyed being a Camp Fire Girls leader, as well as crafts, camping, and reading. Loretta had a passion for her church community and friends. She was often called upon to help others and guide them spiritually.
Many would describe Loretta as someone who would spread cheer and laughter through silly behavior and many costumes for annual events. Loretta was quick to include others and reach out to draw others into community activities.
Loretta’s family and friends were her world.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Eugene Thompson, her son Stanley Christopher Thompson, and grandson Robert Henry Haughie. She is survived by her three sisters Esther Moore, Mildred Storz and Ruth Huang and two brothers Henry Gneiser and Wayne Gneiser, five living children David (Tonya)Thompson of Kerrville Texas, Kathleen (Richard) Hodson of Whitewater CO, Linda (Ed) Lopez of Fruita CO, James (Sharline) Thompson of Grand Junction CO, Frank (Theresa) Thompson of Center Point TX, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
