Louise E. Caviness, also known as Immer or Weeze, age 81, of Fruita, Colorado, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on February 27, 2025. Born on October 14, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, Louise was an adored mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and radiant smile touched the lives of all who knew her.
Louise lived in various places throughout her life, including Chicago, Aurora, Brooklyn, Arvada, and Steamboat Springs, before retiring in Fruita, Colorado, where she truly made her home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Caviness. She left behind her cherished children: Annette DiBenedetto, Michelle DiBenedetto, Victoria (Bruce) Behrer, Jeanne (Kevin) Sullivan, Corinne (Dean) Jack, Curtis (Leslie) Caviness, Ted (Jeaneane) Caviness, and Pete Caviness. Louise also leaves behind 26 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. For many years, Louise worked as an international flight attendant for Trans World Airlines (TWA), where she was fortunate enough to travel the world. Her career allowed her to experience different cultures, meet fascinating people, and collect a wealth of incredible stories. Louise especially enjoyed sharing tales of the celebrities she met along the way, often bringing these exciting adventures to life for her family and friends.
In her free time, Louise cherished traveling with her sweetheart, Ken, in their motorhome, making countless memories as they explored new places across the country. She also took great pride in helping raise her grandson, Hunter, offering him unconditional love, guidance, and support as he grew. Louise had a special bond with her cat, Tara Kay Caviness, and her Bichon dog, Maggie, who brought her great comfort and companionship, and whose passing left a space in her heart.
Louise was an active and loved member of the Fruita Christian Church, where she not only attended Bible study but was also affectionately known for bringing the donuts each week. A lover of music, she sang every year in the annual Handel's Messiah choir performance, a tradition she cherished. Louise also enjoyed planting spring flowers, watching 4th of July fireworks with loved ones, and attending get-togethers with family and friends. Her infectious laughter, fun-loving spirit, and warm heart made her a joy to be around. Louise had a unique ability to lift the spirits of everyone around her, brightening any room she entered and leaving an unforgettable mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
