Lynda Daisy Roybal, age 72, died March 1st, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with ALS. She passed in the comfort of her home surrounded by family, friends, and HopeWest. Lynda’s story began on March 14th, 1949, in Toronto, Canada. She was born to her late parents Harold Dwight Holbrook and Marvel Blanche Shillington. Lynda graduated in 1967 from Barstow California High School and then attended Beauty School to become a professional beautician. She worked as a beautician for 53 years and owned and operated several salons. Lynda loved her clients dearly, including Dale Evans (Roy Rogers), whom she took care of for many years while working in Apple Valley, CA. In her free time, she enjoyed sitting in the swing under her tree, gardening, traveling, sewing, and quilting. Lynda was a born-again believer and claimed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. HIS spirit and joy radiated through her and her wonderful smile. She attended and loved several Bible-believing churches in the Valley. Lynda was a loving mother and wife, hardworking, and was always quick to lend a helping hand. Lynda is survived by her husband, Joseph U. Roybal, Fruita, CO; her son, Rick (Erin) Lefler, San Antonio, TX; her stepson, Joseph A. Roybal, Denver, CO; her sister, Marta Holbrook, Wichita, KS; and her three grandchildren: Jada Mulford, Jordan Lefler, and Jacob Lefler. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 29th, 2022, with more details to follow.
