Maggie Gibson

September 28, 1931 — June 24, 2016

Marguerite “Maggie” Gibson, of Grand Junction, died peacefully at home, with her husband by her side on Friday, June 24, 2016.  She was 84.

Maggie was born September 28, 1931 to Bill and Leona Anderson in Collbran, CO.  She graduated from Collbran Union High School and attended Mesa College before her marriage to Stanley Long in 1951.  They raised three children, Debbie, David and D’Ann.  Stanley is deceased.

Maggie married Bud Gibson in 1978 and they spent 38 years together.

She worked for many years as a grocery clerk in Collbran and Palisade.  After she and Bud retired, they “hit the road” and enjoyed seeing the country in their RV for nearly 20 years.  Maggie especially enjoyed fishing in Alaska.  They finally settled again in Grand Junction, where she enjoyed spending time with her family, many friends and fellow Bronco fans.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Howard Anderson and Leo Anderson.

She is survived by her husband, Bud, children, Debbie (Pat) Bubela, David (Chris) Long, D’Ann (Aaron) Monger, Dea (Hap) Fairchild, Donna Jensen and Rob (Stephanie) Gibson, 13 grandchildren, (plus one on the way), 20 great grandchildren, and brother-in-law, Bob Gibson.

Per Maggie’s request, no services will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hope West Hospice, 3090 North 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506
