Margaret Louise Bishop

On December 2, 2024 Margaret (Susie) Louise Bishop (Booco-Aeverman) was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. Susie was born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado on December 28, 1941 to Jack and Ola Booco. She spent her childhood years in the Eagle Valley between Bond and McCoy, Colorado. One of her favorite things growing up was going up on the Gore to go fishing and to the iron springs and make lemonade. She was very active in the Rainbow Girls and different organizations in school. She graduated from McCoy High School in 1959. She then moved to Grand Junction to attend Mesa University. She met Earl Aeverman there and in June of 1960 they were married. They moved to Denver and soon after started a family. Earl Kent was born in January of 1962 and Bobbi Jo in June of 1964. Soon after Bobbi was born they moved to Granby where they settled and bought Mountain Valley Oil. Susie and Earl ran the business for many years until both children had grown up. It was in 1984 that they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and Susie became the Manager of the gift shops at the Imperial Palace where she made some very dear friends. Earl and Susie went their separate ways in 1992. Susie continue to work at the Imperial Palace for a while and then moved to Cottonwood, Arizona for a few years. She was briefly married to Bud Bishop and in 1995 they moved back to Overton, Nevada. Susie made Overton her home until 2012. She cared for her mom and dad up until they passed away and worked full time at the Casa Blanca in Mesquite, Nevada as the manager of Katherines Gourmet Steak House, again making lifelong friendships with those that she worked with. In 2012 Susie retired and move to Grand Junction, Colorado to share a home with her oldest sister, Aldine Fiedler.

Through the years Susie enjoyed many things, including her Denver Broncos. She even went as far to say "don't call when the Broncos are playing!" More then anything though, she truly treasured her family, and whenever she had a chance to she would either be headed out in her Mini Cooper on a road trip to Wyoming to visit her daughter Bobbi and son-in-law Russell and family, or to her niece and nephew Jackie and Dennis Green’s home and help in the jelly shed or watched the kitties or off to play cards with her card family that she so enjoyed, going to her treasured friend, Gail Simonsen’s home and either going fishing or just to visit. Once a year Susie would travel back to Mesquite to reconnect with the friends that she had made while she worked there. Some of her most memorable trips that she treasured though were the ones that she was able to go spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was able to go to Minnesota with her son Earl in November 2022 to visit her grandson Nick and great grandson Kai and see the country. In 2018 Susie made a family trip with Bobbi and Russell to Maryland for her granddaughter Lillys wedding. She visited Lilly and her wife Courtney in Delaware multiple times since then, making her last trip in 2022.In 2021 she travelled to Wyoming for her granddaughter Brenda's wedding and making her last trip to visit them in the fall of 2023.

This past year Susie spent living with her son Earl and bonus daughter Debbie. With their love and care she was able to make her last trip to Mesquite with her niece and nephew Jackie and Dennis Green, attend a few more card parties, hug her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and share many stories with them, some that they have heard before and some not, go visit her hometown McCoy for the McCoy Days Reunion and see many old time friends from her childhood, have the great joy learning that her granddaughter Brenda and husband Tucker were going to have a baby in 2025. Up until the last of October you could find Susie out in the yard at Earl and Debbie’s planting seeds for this flower or that flower. She loved being able to look at the mountains from the window and listen to the birds sing.

Susie is survived by her sister Aldine Fiedler, her son Earl Aeverman and his wife Debbie, her daughter Bobbi Jo and her husband Russell Dockins, grandchildren Nicholas Aeverman, Brenda Winget (Tucker), Lilly Martinez (Courtney), Tori Dockins, Timi Short (Chris), her great-grandchildren, Felix Wood, Blaze Wood, Daisy Wood, Michael Panuello and Kai Blake along with multiple nieces and nephews, and her bonus grandchildren John and Kelly Breiner, Brandon and Joel Breiner, great grandchildren Jazzymyne and Kira Breiner and Samuel Clair Breiner. Preceding her in death are her parents Jack and Ola Booco, and sister Betty Jo Booco.
