Mariah Green

Mariah Lynn Green passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado on January 10, 2019 in the company of her family.

She was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 12, 1999 where she lived for the first two years of her life.  After that she moved with her mother, April and brother, Austin to Colorado.  They settled in Dove Creek, Colorado and she eventually became the eldest sibling to a sister, Shelby and brother, Chad. As a young girl Mariah loved to explore and was always an outgoing, bubbly personality.  Even when she wandered off she wasn’t hard to find, her voice could be heard for miles; especially her laugh.

Almost as soon as she entered school, Mariah joined youth cheerleading.  Cheer quickly became her first love and since she was always the smallest girl on the team she was easily tossed in the air on stunts.  She was always proud of the fact that she cheered every year from Kindergarten through her junior year of high school.

During her youth she was always a lover of animals.  It was common for her to bring back animals to the house.  These included kittens, wild birds, lizards, a turtle, and a rabbit with the help of her siblings.

Mariah and her family spent one year in Glenpool, Oklahoma where it wasn’t long until she knew everyone in the neighborhood.  She loved the warm weather in Oklahoma and the friends she made there.

After returning to Dove Creek she graduated high school with many of the friends that she had grown up with.  It was a dream of hers to live in California while becoming a fashion designer and to have a house on a beach.

She is survived by her mother April Kline (Erik Kline) of Dove Creek, Colorado; father John Merchant of Tonopah, Nevada; brothers Austin Green and Chad Kline; sister Shelby Kline; grandparents Wayne and Mary Kline of Dove Creek Colorado; Patrick and Maxine Green of Grand Junction, Colorado; Lynnette and Rich Woods of Lincoln, Nebraska and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 26, 2019 at the Pioneer Center in Dove Creek, Colorado.
