Marie Margaret Adams

Marie Margaret Adams, age 96 died January 4, 2024 holding the hand of a very precious Hopewest Hospice volunteer.

Born May 14, 1927 in St. Louis County Missouri, she was the first daughter of Clarence and Amelia Jennewein. She had five brothers and six sisters.

Marie attended catholic school in Missouri to 8th grade. 

Marie had been employed as a cashier and waitress through the years. She received her cosmetology license in 1969. She then enrolled in Mesa College in 1970 when she traveled to Colorado with Howard Adams. 

She was a member of New Life Church in Grand Junction, Colorado and received Jesus Christ as her savior on August 25, 2002. 

She enjoyed gardening, roses, hiking, camping, taking long walks, and feeding the birds. She was very witty and had a great sense of humor at times. She was always determined, strong willed, and very frugal. She is best known for her service as a foster grandparent for 18 years from age 74 to 92. 16 of those precious years were spent at Kids of the Kingdom Preschool, mentoring and loving children ages 2 to 5 through the years. 

She was proceeded in death by her parents, 8 siblings and her beloved dog Peanut. 

Marie is survived by her sisters Ann, Gladys and Laverne. 

Memorial Services will be held Friday February 9, 2024 at 1:30 P.M. at Orchard Mesa Cemetery (2620 Legacy Way, Grand Junction, CO, 81503)
