Marlene Brantley

March 18, 1946 — December 19, 2022

Marlene Ann Brantley, age 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 19, 2022.

Born March 18, 1946 in New Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Alva Owen Brantley and Ruth Eileen Brantley. Her father Alva Brantley served in the U. S. Navy in World War II. Shortly after returning from the war, married Ruth Brantley, Marlene’s Mother. Her parents had a family farm in Loma, CO.

Marlene graduated from Eden-Farson high school in Farson, Wyoming. She graduated from University of Wyoming, with a  B.A. and Masters degree in English.

Marlene was a senior volunteer for the Salvation Army.  She had also worked as a high school English teacher for Fruita Monument High School for many years, until she retired.

She was a loving sister and friend, hardworking, and always sought out ways to help others.

She enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling, in both the United States and abroad.

Marlene is survived by her brother, David (Wendy) Brantley, sister Ruth (Robert) Vanerka, nephew Scott Vanerka, and niece Renee (Leonard) Jenkins, in addition to cousins and other extended family.
