Marvin Lee Peterson was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on April 4, 1948 to Darrell and Lula ( Oyler ) Peterson he passed from this life on December 19, 2023 at Whitewater, Colorado at the age of 75 years 8 months and 15 days.
He lived in the Grand Junction area most of his life. Marvin served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969 and then after two years was honorably discharged.
He lived in Delta, Colorado from January 1970 to March 1973.
Where he was baptized into The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on April 14, 1970 at the age of 22 by Brother Jack Thompson in Delta, Colorado.
He met and Married Beverly Ashby on June 20, 1970 in Delta, Colorado. To this union was born two daughters. Sherri Lynn born September 21, 1971 and Mindy Deone September 6, 1976.
He worked at many jobs, the longest was NW Transport ( Harp, Ephraim, McCleans and ONC ) from 1973 to 1999 when the company went bankrupt. He then went on to work at several jobs until he was able to retire from the Teamsters in 2002.
Marvin was ordained an Elder of The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Grand Junction, Colorado on June 22, 1985 he remained faithful to his calling.
He loved the great outdoors. He lived in Glade Park for 28 years. After his health started failing he moved to Palisade, Colorado in 2010. He lived there for 5 years. He then moved to Whitewater, Colorado in 2015.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Lula, stepdad John Elsen, brother Duane Peterson, grandson Trevette Glory and great granddaughter LillyMae Herrmann.
He is survived by his wife Beverly of the home, daughters Sherri Sweet of Eckert, Colorado and Mindy ( Josh ) Glory of Whitewater, Colorado. Six grand children, Savannah ( Lyle ) Herrmann, Haley ( Boyd ) Herrmann, Madison Sweet, Tiana ( Kendall ) Pittser, Cody ( Patience ) Glory, Tara Glory and 8 great grandchildren.
