Mary Gonzales

Mary Louise Gonzales, 78 of Grand Junction, passed peacefully on August 22, 2019.

May she rest in the arms of the Lord, Our Heavenly Father has called her home.

‘Louisa” as she was affectionally known, was born in Macfee Colorado January 3, 1941 to Pete Gonzales and Mary (Speer) Gonzales.

Mary Louise was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Durango, Colorado.  She was an admired Den Mother of many cub scouts groups within the Boy Scout organization in Durango. Mary was also a parishioner of the Sacred Heart Catholic church which she was helping in the CCD and elderly programs.  Bingo and crocheting were two things she loved, and she was the biggest Denver Bronco fan.

Mary Louise's loving smile and caring personality was her persona in life.

Mary Louise is proceeded in Death by her Father and Mother, Pete and Mary Gonzales; brothers, Eloy, Joseph, Phil and Rudy Gonzales; sisters Pauline Sears, Della Martinez and Julie Paul.

Mary Louise is survived by brothers Fidel and Al Gonzales and sister Joann Rocha of Durango Colorado.

Mary Louise was Mother to Tony, Eloy Jr. Carl, and Joseph Alcon of Grand Junction, Colorado, Leon Montoya of Grand Junction, Colorado, Gary Alcon of Virginia Beach, VA, and Virginia Haag of Grand Junction Colorado.

Mary Louise was known as “Tia” to 21 nieces and nephews, known as “Grandma” to 11 grandchildren, and known as “grandma grandma” to 6 great grandchildren.

Rosary and Mass Services will be offered in two cities. Mary called both Grand Junction and Durango Home.

Rosary Service will be Friday, August 30, 2019, 7:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Parish in Grand Junction. CO and Mass Service Saturday, August 31, 2019, 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Parish, Grand Junction, Co.

Rosary Service will be Friday, September 6, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Sacred Heart Parish in Durango, Co. and Mass service Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Parish in Durango, Co.  Burial service will be at Green mount Cemetery in Durango following the Mass Church service in Durango. CO.

FLOWERS MAY BE SENT TO EITHER SACRED HEART PARISH IN DURANGO  OR ST. JOSEPH'S PARISH IN GRAND JUNCTION
