Mary Yvonne Seehusen, age 79, of Grand Junction, passed away at her place of residence on the morning of October 25, 2014. Because of the wonderful , selfless and caring people of Hospice, she was able to come home and live her final moments surrounded by her family. Mary was born on May 6, 1935 in Culver
City, CA and was the daughter of the late Mary Louise Schiller and John Jack Young. She has one surviving sister, Sally Ruffenach of Orlando, Florida.
Mary was blessed with one Son, Bradly Seehusen of Westminster, CO, and four daughters, Vicky Seehusen-Ganskow of Lakewood, CO, Cathy Marsaglia of Tulsa, OK, Lori Stanton of Grand Junction CO, and Bonnie Seehusen Westminster, CO. The blessings did not stop there. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren living between Alaska, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas and Oklahoma.
She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished the moments that she had with each and every one of them. She loved sharing her stories as well as experiences, from camping at Carter Lake to road trips visiting family. The stories she told will live on in our hearts forever . She was the best person to travel with and made driving long distances so much fun. She always kept us on our toes a nd we looked forward to each and every moment that we could spend with her.
Mary loved going to Black Hawk in Colorado, where she not only played the slots, but would eat her favorite foods in the wonderful atmosphere that made her feel like she was in Vegas. We believed that her many visits there were most certainly programmed into her car on autopilot, as she always knew her way there and back home, no matter what the weather!
If every one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren could say a few words about her, this would be the longest obituary ever. She was a big part of our lives and the lives of others for a very long time. Her memories and love will live in our hearts forever! The beautiful Colorado Mountains will be her final resting place as a private celebration of her life will be held in Black Hawk Colorado next summer with the spreading of her ashes.
