Mary Lou Ankney

Mary Lou Ankney, 88.

On January 27th at 2:30 p.m., God sent His angels to carry Mary Lou back to her heavenly home. She is now with her love and husband, John Head; great-grandson, Alex Head; son-in-law, Bobby Benson, and family members that have gone before her.

Born in Kansas, Mary lived most of her life in Colorado, and was a long-time resident of Grand Junction. She worked in many levels of management throughout her life.

Mary Lou passed with her daughter, Brenda and grandson, Joshua by her side. She fought a long illness with strength, dignity, and on her own terms. She was caring, giving, loyal, feisty, and yes, opinionated.

Mary was always there for others and put them before herself.

Mary Lou is survived by her current husband of 44 years, Connie (Butch) Ankney; children, Brenda Head, Jim Head, Carol Head, Donald VanMeter, Linda VanMeter, David VanMeter and Sandy VanMeter,; grandchildren, Joshua Head, Amy Head, John Head, Cassie Head; great-grandchildren, Cody Head, Lodan Head, Ryver Head, and Danielle Head, and many others.
Mary Lou will be greatly missed, but always remembered.

There is a brighter star in the night sky for sure now.

Promise kept mom, til the end - love Brenda.

There will be a service in the spring.
