Matthew Wayne DeVaughn, age 33, unexpectedly passed away on June 8, 2023 in Grand Junction, CO. Born on January 23, 1990 in Jacksonville, FL.
He graduated from high school in Nettleton, MS. He joined the Army National Guard his Junior year of high school and went to boot camp after his graduation. He served one tour in Afghanistan while in the Army National Guard.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jerold & Florence Williams of Clarksville, Iowa.
He is survived by his mother Cynthia (Chris) Provancher of Denver, CO, his brother Frank (Allyson) DeVaughn of Grand Junction, CO, his sister Meghan (John) Shierling of Amory, MS, his Aunt Sherri (Rodger) Polson of Crawford, CO.
He is also survived by cousins, niece, nephews, half-siblings, step siblings and other family members who loved him. Also, by a very special family that loved him and treated him like their own family, Karie Fisher and her parents Scott & Dianne Johnson, John Fisher, Jared Fisher, Savannah Mills and Mason Galloway.
From a young age Matthew has always been spoke of by family and others who knew him as having a Beautiful Spirit, contagious giggle/laugh and the sweetest heart, now we draw comfort in knowing he is at peace in God’s arms. “ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28
The graveside services will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Grand Junction, CO.
