Matthew Raymond Emert

Matthew Raymond Emert was born in Syracuse, NY on March 7, 1970 to Raymond and Marilyn Emert and passed away on July 15 at Saint Mary’s Hospital. Matt was a twin and the youngest of six children. The Emert family, including the youngest four children, moved to Grand Junction in 1976. 

Matthew enjoyed riding motorcycles, his family, and being outside. He married Lisa Basham in Grand Junction on June 21, 1990. Together they had two sons before they divorced in 1998.   Matt met Valerie Coolbaugh in 2011 and they have been together ever since. Matt is survived by his ex-wife Lisa, life partner Valerie Coulbaugh, his two sons, (Colton and Cody of Grand Junction and siblings, Lori Mattingly, Mary Waterhouse, Marilyn Grady, Terri Thye and twin brother Daniel Emert as well as many nieces and nephews.  Matt will be missed by many people.
