Mavis Hanson died on March 7th, 2020. She lived to be 98 years old which was quite an achievement among many that she had. Mavis was one of the first women to graduate in journalism from the University of Minnesota in 1942. She was a WW2 wife and worked as a copy writer during that time.
She spent many years in Washington State where was active in civic affairs as a town clerk for the town of Clyde Hill, WA. and a campaign manager in the state of WA. When she left Clyde Hill, she settled at the Mill Creek Golf Course and pursued her love of golf.
Mavis then left the rain and spent her next 10 years in the Saddle Brook Community, Tucson, where she continued golfing. She also focused on her passion for painting and was active in the local art community. The following 10 years Mavis was engaged in her local retirement community, Airforce Village West in Riverside, CA. Her final years were spent in Grand Junction, Colorado where she lived closer to her daughter Terrianne Warner of Cimarron, CO.
Mavis Hanson was a very devoted mother and grandmother, and loved spending time with her family.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Albert Sidney Hanson, and son Marshall Hanson, and was survived by her sister, Joan Danielson, daughter Terrianne Warner, Paul Warner son-in-law, Deborah Hanson, daughter in-law, and grand daughters Loren & Sydney Hanson.
