Michael Buchanan

Michael Dale Buchanan, age 74, died at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, CO, on Wednesday, Aug 3, 2016. The cause was West Nile Virus with CLL complications. Born January 14, 1942 in Topeka, KS, Mike graduated from highschool in Topeka then went on to get his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from Kansas University and his Master's from Carnegie Melon. Mike was an adventurer and loved playing (& coaching) tennis, mountain biking, sailing, making new friends and traveling anywhere that wasn't too cold. Mike made a home in many places including Kansas City, the Carribbean, Livingston, TX and Mesa, AZ. Survivors include his 2 sons and their wives, Scott & Melissa Buchanan and Sean & Linda Buchanan w/grandson Blake, sister and husband Sherry & Mike Coughlin, several nieces and spouses w/children, and step-son and wife Terry & Karen Robinson w/granddaughter Erica.
