Michael Andrew Bybee passed away December 15,2022, at Hope West Hospice after a long battle with cancer. Michael was born in Denver, at St Mary’s Hospital September 3, 1965, and spent the majority of his life growing up in Loveland, Colorado. After high school and receiving his Bachelor’s degree from University of Northern Colorado, Michael joined the Air Force reserves, and trained as a navigation technician. His final station, where he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant, was at Buckley in Aurora, Colorado.
Michael had a variety of interests that spanned areas from model railroading, gold panning/mining, motorcycles, camping, hunting, fishing, to carving miniature wooden figurines. He was always an avid reader, and was continually fascinated by the early history of Great Britain and western Europe.
Michael spent his professional life living and working in Denver and Grand Junction as a computer support and network engineer, IT manager, and media communication coordinator. He was known by his family, friends, and professional associates as the nicest person you could ever hope to meet.
Michael leaves behind his wife Kathryn Dunigan in Grand Junction, his parents Shirley and Jerry Bybee of Loveland, and his brother Chris Bybee of Evergreen, Colorado. The celebration of Michael’s life will be a private family affair, and his ashes will be scattered in a mountain valley that holds special memories for his family.
