Mike was born on August 12, 1942 in Lenora Kansas, to Loren Scott and Louella Beougher Scott. He moved with his family to Colorado when he was a young child. After graduating from Central High School in 1961 he joined the Air Force and spent time in Mississippi and Texas. Upon returning home to Grand Junction he married Ida Annette Hamby, December 9, 1966 and were together for 53 yrs. until his death. He started working at the Mesa County Road Department. He later began working in Carpentry and started his career building houses. Mike built a house for his mother and 2 for his family. Mike moved his family to Glade Park, Colorado in 1982 and built the house his wife Ida, still lives in today. He was a man full of life, with always a smile on his face and always glad to see you. Mike loved camping, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling (before there were ATV’s), and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed a cold beer and good conversation. He will forever be missed, and forever be remembered. Survivors include his wife Ida Scott of Glade Park, daughter Sheila Scott Bennett and husband Bill Bennett of Grand Junction, son Michael Scott and wife Lisa Scott and their daughters Darby and Lainey Scott of Fruita, brother Robert Scott of Grand Junction, sister Barbara Scott of Grand Junction, and many nieces and nephews. We love you dad, and we know you are in heaven enjoying your time with past family.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s association and Hopewest.
