Michael Andrew Stortz, age 81 died February 9, 2025 from a short illness.
Born November 4,1943 in Durant Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Harold and Dorthy Stortz.
In the early fifties his family moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. Mike attended St. Josephs Elementary school, East Jr. High and Grand Junction High School, graduating in 1962.
Mike managed CM&H Tire Co. with his father until its closure. He then went to work with Goodyear Tire and Advance Auto until he retired.
He was a member of St. Josephs Church and the Honor Guard at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Mike was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, but he loved the Oklahoma Sooners and the Yankee’s. He always had a story about one of them. Mickey Mantle was his favorite baseball player. He participated in a variety of sports while attending Grand Junction High School. He coached Little League baseball for his sons and competitive softball for his daughter. Along with other various sports. He loved to go camping, fishing, hiking and walking the dogs: Jazz (until her death)) and Quigley. Later in life, he was a huge supporter in all his grandkid’s activities.
He was known by many and always knew someone wherever he went. He was always willing to help anyone in need.
Mike was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer, his parents Harold and Dorothy, and his younger brother Bill.
He is survived by his spouse Rose Ann, sons Marc, Christopher, Stephen (Joanna), daughter Kelli (Justin) Clark. Grandchildren Jesse, Matthew, Cole, Kilee, Whitney, Logan and his sister Margaret.
