Morgan “Moe” Hightower was born August 18, 1998 to Jim and Ami Hightower at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. Morgan was called home on July 19th, 2023. Morgan was raised in Collbran, CO and had also lived in Arizona for a short time caring for her grandfather.
Morgan had the biggest personality. She enjoyed cracking jokes and telling stories. She was always the first to the dance floor and could swing dance better than most. Moe had a knack for writing and also for drawing. Moe was always a friend and cared deeply for those around her. Morgan enjoyed rodeos and was known to ride a bull here or there. In high school she played basketball and was a part of the track team, throwing both shotput and discus. In her junior year she broke a state discus record, but it was then broken by the girl that threw immediately after her. (Dang the luck.) She was very active in FFA and served on the officer team. Morgan had a special interest in welding and took a semester at WCCC. Morgan’s goal was always to work on a ranch but had recently taken up carpentry, following in her mother’s footsteps.
Morgan was preceded in death by her mother Ami Blassingame and her brother Jeremiah Blassingame. Aunt Tiffani (Will) Kennon, and Uncle Clint Hightower.
Morgan is survived by her father Jim Hightower, sister Hanna (Keith) Mueller, grandparents Anita (Mike) Hughes and grandpa Tillman Blassingame. Morgan is also survived by countless cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Morgan’s celebration of life will be August 26th, 2023 at the Mesa Community Center starting at 11:00 am. It will be a potluck.
