Nancy was born to Elizabeth (Merwin) Gray and James T Gray on May 8th, 1938 in Gunnison, CO
She grew up in Gunnison, South Dakota, California and moved to Naturita when she was in the ninth grade. Nancy met, then married Adolphus (Doc) Moore on July 30, 1955. She graduated from Nucla High School in 1956. Nancy's siblings are Thelma Howlett, Louis Gray, Alice Ellingsen, Joan Swavely, Geneva Stone and Tom Gray.
Nancy and Doc had only 8 children. Daniel (Wanda) of Naturita, Greg of Naturita, Nannette (George) Hibbert of Nucla, Robert of Naturita, Brad (Cindy) of Arkansas, Sherry of Fruita, Jeff of Naturita and Allison (Rigo) Gabarza of Naturita. Grandkids: Jason, Chris, Brian, Branden, Eric, Mikeal, Dustin, Karen, William, Kathryn, Steven, Stephanie, Lisa, Ashton, Sheriff and Danny. 22 Great grandkids and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Nancy was very active in the community. She helped raise money for the Happiness School, UMTRA group working with the DOE, VFW, MC Library Board, WE Medical Clinic, W.E. School Accountability, Rimrockers, W.E. Revitalization, W.E. Art Guild, SMB Open Fair, MC Planning Board and was an EMT and a Firefighter.
Nancy was a very crafty lady who loved to Quilt, garden and walk. Her Grandkids called her Grandma Nancy and to the great grandkids, she was just Duckie.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years 10 months Adolphus (Doc) Moore, grandson Ryan, sisters Thelma Hote Howlett, Joan Swavely and Geneva Stone.
