Nancy Weber

September 7, 1950 — December 13, 2016

Nancy Jean (Johnson) Weber, age 66, was born on September 7, 1950, in Holdrege, Nebraska.  She passed away at University of Colorado Hospital on December 12, 2016, after several months of battling Leukemia.

Nancy’s life and legacy is immortal and will live on in her family, whom she loved infinitely and immensely.  The strength that you see in this family was a seed that was planted by our father, cultivated by our mother and grown in good soil.

It is difficult to summarize her life story in the mere constrains of an obituary.  Yes, Nancy has accomplished many things, but her life is about the family, the joy she has brought to people, the beauty that she surrounded herself with, both in her home and in the community, and the generosity she has shown to so many.

Nancy graduated Holdrege High School in Holdrege, Nebraska.  She met her husband, of 47 years, Tom Weber in Holdrege and was married in September 1968.

Tom and Nancy moved the family from Wilcox, Nebraska to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1989.  In 1993, she and Tom started A-1 Truck Repair in Grand Junction; they successfully owned and operated it, until retiring in 2007.

Nancy loved oil painting; her beautiful canvases are lovingly hung in her children’s homes.  She also loved crafts, going to concerts, watching movies, babysitting and traveling to visit family.  She was a foster parent to more than 60 children while living in Grand Junction.  We will miss the long talks around the kitchen table, where she would share stories about growing up in Nebraska and life in general.

She touched the hearts of many and was often seen as a second mother to many of her kid’s friends; which will not be forgotten and will live on in their stories about her unconditional love and generosity she showed them.

Nancy was surrounded by those she loved most in the world, Tim Weber (Misty) of Lexington, Nebraska; Roger Weber (Tina); Cory Weber (Kimberly); daughter, Jordan “Becca” Weber of Grand Junction, Colorado; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Chaffin, Jonathan Weber, Natasha Chaffin, Amber Weber, Tyrus Weber and David “Tripp” Conner; and great-granddaughter Taylee Chaffin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Tom, infant son Tommy, daughter Christina Conner (Weber); parents Roger and Betty Johnson (Daharsh).
