It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of my beloved brother Nicholas John Young who was taken from us too soon on February 25, 2025, at the age of 48.
Nick brought immeasurable joy, light, and laughter into our lives with his kind heart, quick wit, and contagious smile. Nick was a loyal friend, son, brother, and cat dad who cared deeply for others, and absolutely adored his cats. Though Nick's time was cut too short, the depth of his love will continue to live on inside us all.
Nick loved his family and friends, and he also loved football and TV and Cinema. He was quick to quote a movie line in the middle of a conversation and absolutely crack you up or leave you completely confused. For Nick football season never came soon enough and never lasted long enough. On Sundays, Nick could be found in his Barry Sanders jersey coaching the lions from the couch, or in his Tom Brady jersey explaining why TB was the GOAT. Sundays will never be quite the same without him.
Love ya big guy, we’ll see you on the other side one day. Until then, your memory will be ours to carry to keep you close to our hearts.
Nick was preceded in death by his Grand Father John York, and his uncle, Arnold Bundschuh. He is survived by his mother Cindy Hess; brother Kent Hess; the mother of his children Tamara “Aramat” Boyd-Snee; daughters Maddie and Victoria Young, and his dear friends Vincent Phipps and Larry Metcalf.
A celebration of Nicks life will be held at a later date.
