Norma J. Amon: Jean- Sis- Mom-Granny, no matter what name she went by, she was one unique lady.
She worried about me and how I would make it without her, truth, it is going to be tough. We lived together for the last 16 years. I cared for her and in return she cared for me.
She was preceded in death by her husband Duane (2002), her son Neil (1994), and son-in-law Bill (2002).
She is survived by her son Alan of Grandville, MI; daughter Judy of Grand Junction, CO; Granddaughters Kelly Breiner (John), Lisa Amon, KC McMaster (Bret) and Grandsons Tyson Amon (Melissa) and Joseph Amon (Liz); Great Granddaughters Jordan, Jameson, Skye, Kait, Jazzmyne and Kira; Great Grandsons Nic Morrow (Saharah), Bryan Darnell, Logan, Sterling, Brennan, Gunner and Great Great Grandson Emerson. She was most proud to get the chance to be a Great Great Grandma!
You never knew what to expect from this lady. Her classic thing was saying things wrong. For example, telling Kelly to go into the camper and get the Kestard and Mutchup. Kelly came out of the camper with the Ketchup and Mustard lol. Or telling me she was disababbled (disabled), I almost passed out laughing.
Kelly, Bill, Dad, Mom and I took a trip to Texas 20 years ago, and on the way back we had debated on whether to stay in Gunnison or not, and ended up deciding to come home. It had started to get extremely quiet in the car, so to make sure that everyone (mainly the driver) was awake, Dad hollered HEY! Well needless to say, he scared the crap out of Mom, she lit the last cigarette in her pack, crumpled it up, threw it at the back of Dad's head and called him an asshole. We all laughed.
Priceless. So many more memories and stories like when she would make cinnamon rolls. She was always bombarded with "What, is Alan coming home?" She always laughed. Or when she told family friend Kevin Miller that she had been a stripper (a statement for which she was teased constantly).
She will be missed by many, and she was loved by all.
Mom I love you. Enjoy your coffee with Helena, give Dad and Neil a hug and a kiss for me, find 2 good slot machines and remember at some point to steal Bill's. Love those dogs for me, give Great a hug, don't let those ornery brothers-in -law give you too much trouble. Have Granddad kick their butts if they do.
Always know that we all love and miss you very much.
