Norman Allen Schick, age 81, died April 24, 2016 at Hope West Hospice Center in Grand Junction following a brief illness
Born June 22, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Oliver and Dorothy (Vester) Schick. He was a graduate of Western High School in Detroit.
Norman was a veteran of the United States Army having served overseas during the Korean War.
He had been employed as a draftsman in the automobile industry.
He was a member of the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.
Norman enjoyed dancing, hiking and camping. He was a quiet and friendly man who loved to tease.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. Hoff Schick, two sons Christopher Schick, Clearwater, FL, Steven Schick, of CA, two daughters, Norma Looney, Westland, MI, and Kathy Schick of Florida, two sisters, Carolyn Roberts, Dearborn, MI, and Martha (Jerry) Byers of Indiana, four step-children, Robert Reedy, Golden, CO, Krisine (Rey) Linares of Dearborn Heights, MI, Thomas (Brenda) Fraser, MI, Karen (Robert) Sdao, of Wesley Chapel, FL, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Interment will Military Honors will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, 2830 Riverside Parkway in Grand Junction on Friday, April 29th at 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
