Oliver R. Morrill , of Fruita Colorado , passed away on September 15th 2021. Oliver, known to most as Bob or Bobby , was born February 28th 1942 to Warren and Ruby Morrill .
Bob spent most of his childhood and younger life in the small central valley town of Fowler California. He graduated from Fowler High School in 1961. Upon graduation from high school he joined military service with the U.S. Navy. He served 4 years in the Navy with deployment tours to the Western Pacific aboard USS Richard B. Anderson. Bob also had a land based deployment in Adak Alaska. After being honorably discharged from the Navy Bob returned home to Fowler and briefly worked in retail . Shortly thereafter, Bob applied and was hired as a police officer for the city of Fresno California. He worked 27 years with the Fresno Police Department. During his time with FPD he worked many different job assignments such as , patrol officer , FTO officer , motorcycle unit , SWAT, undercover narcotics , detective , violent crime suppression unit , special enforcement section and pilot for the aviation unit. After retirement from the Fresno Police Department he worked at the Fresno County Federal Courthouse as a security officer with the U.S. Marshall Service.
Bob spent the rest of his retirement years living briefly in Ferndale Washington. He worked a short time as a truck driver in Washington before eventually settling down in Fruita Colorado. After arriving in Colorado he worked as a delivery driver for his brother Gene Morrill in the sheet metal business.
During Bob's retirement years he especially enjoyed spending time with his family , going to the gym , taking motorcycle rides , golfing , and traveling and taking walks with his wife Marilyn.
Bob is preceded by his parents , Warren and Ruby Morrill. He is survived by his wife Marilyn , his two sons Tim and Jason and brother Gene Morrill. He is also survived by his grandkids Cheyenne Noland and Colton Morrill , as well as step daughters Tanya and Summer and step grandkids Alicia and Grace.
