Obituary for Patti Pitts
Patricia “Patti” Louise Pitts, age 76, formerly of the North Fork Valley, CO passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at the home of her daughter in Grand Junction, CO
Born July 9, 1938 in Dumont, CO, she was the daughter of the late George Melvin and Viola Ester Hill McAfee. Following graduation from high school in Erie, CO, she attended college in CA.
Patti was a talented woman with creative hands. She loved crafting, sewing and even made some jewelry. When she wasn’t at home producing artful creations, she liked passing her time at auctions, yard sales and craft shows.
When it came to confections, Patti was “Fudge Maker Extraordinaire”. And, not just the usual offering; she made fudge in a variety of flavors.
Sometimes known as a “spitfire”, Patti was clear on her values. She wasn’t afraid to express her opinions, so if you didn’t want to hear the truth, you didn’t ask Patti.
More than anything, Patti loved her family. From the oldest to the youngest, everyone was special.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Harlan Lee Pitts. Survivors include two daughters, Michelle (David) Long, with whom she made her home, Jennifer (Kurt) Huttsell, Hudson, CO a brother, George (Diane) McAfee, Palo Alto, CA, a sister, Karen (Larry) Cottrell, Jordon Valley, OR, six grandchildren, Mariah, Kevin, Justin, Josh, Samantha, and Summer, and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hope West Hospice, 3090 North 12 th Street, Unit B, Grand Junction, CO 81506
