Patrick Leigh Hampton, 75 died February 19, 2017 following a long illness. Born September 13, 1941, in Akron Ohio, son of the late Robert and Oka Hampton. He graduated with a B.S in Business from Miami University, Ohio and M.B.A. from Ohio State University. He was a 23-year Veteran of the US Air Force serving initially as a Minute Man Missileer in S. Dakota, and retiring as a Lt. Colonel after serving as chief of personnel, and base/vice commander at bases throughout Europe during the Cold War. He was employed as a registrar at Castleton State College, VT, Chatham University, PA, and ending at Colorado Mesa University in 2009. He was a faithful member of Shepherd of the Valley Church serving on many committees.
He is survived by his devoted wife Ann Hampton, and children: Michael Hampton, Robert Hampton, Samantha Mulford, Paula Parker, and nine grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Shepherd of the Valley Church. A military committal service will be conducted at Grand Junction VA Cemetery on March 13, at 3pm.
