Pauline Crowell

Pauline Slattery Crowell, age 92, died April 14, 2017, following a full and long life.

Pauline was born on June 30, 1924 in Medford, Massachusetts.  She spent her early years at a boarding school in Boston, and loved spending her childhood summers with her brother at her beloved grandparents farm in Canada.

During World War II, Pauline worked in the secretarial pool at Pratt and Whitney where they manufactured aircraft engines.  It was then that she met the love of her life, Leonard Crowell.

They moved to Southern California where Pauline managed the family furniture manufacturing business, The Rash Crowell Company.

At a time when few women owned businesses, Pauline owned and operated Crowell Hallmark store, in Clewiston Florida.  After selling her store, Pauline worked as the Assistant to the Director of the Glades County Chamber of Commerce and organized their annual Chalo Nitka Festival involving the local Seminole Indian tribe.

Pauline was artistic and creative.  She was a poet and author.   She loved to entertain, was fiercely independent, had a quick humor and always was the first to laughed at herself.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Crowell; and her brother, William F. Slattery.

Pauline is survived by, her daughters Bronwen Agajanian, Claudia Lee, and Cyndi Vaughn; her grandchildren, Garrett Agajanian, Audra Agajanian, Gregory Agajanian, Katie Vaughn, Ethan Vaughn; and her great-grandchildren, Nathanial Agajanian, Elizabeth, Agajanian, Anahit Agajanian, Mawuta Nuku, and Kiera Agajanian.

Memorial services will be the 21st of April, 2017 10 AM at Brown’s Chapel at 904 North 7th Street, Grand Junction, CO  81501.
