Peri Marie Johnson

Peri Marie Johnson, a resident of Whitewater, CO, passed away on October 29, 2023, after bravely battling several health issues over the years. She was born on January 20, 1956, in Bellevue, VA, and was the eldest of four children born to her parents, Leland and JoAnn (Karle) Muhr.

Peri found her soulmate and united in marriage with Merton K. Johnson. Together they had two children, a son and a daughter named Trent and Carissa. Their journey took them to various places, including Alaska and California, before they eventually settled in Grand Junction and its surrounding areas. 

Peri dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She had a special passion for crafting quilts, reading books, history and enjoyed family gatherings, the outdoors and fishing. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after years of service. 

Peri was preceded in death by her husband, son and mother. She is survived by her father, Leland Muhr, her step-mother Deloris, her daughter Carissa McElhaney, son-in-law Dustin, daughter-in-law Aimee Johnson, and her four beloved grandchildren: Avery Ford, Blas Ford, Baylee Johnson, and Rylan Johnson. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings: Cheri (Rory) Comstock, Bryan (Brenda) Muhr, and Brenda (Ron) Coffman, along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Peri's wishes, there will be no formal services. A Celebration of Life will be held on 11/12/2023. Please reach out to the family with time and location.
