Randy Mantell

Randy Allen Mantell, age 65, passed away June 11th, 2021.

Born March 23rd 1956 in Denver, Colorado. He was the son of Joy Celeste Mantell (Grand Junction, Colorado) and the late Ralph Arthur Mantell.

Randy attended Garden Grove High School in Garden Grove, California before earning his GED and joining the Army.

Roofing and building things were his passion but he also enjoyed teaching his sons, daughter, and others these skills and more. He never gave up when teaching his daughter how to put a roof on straight, even with her fear of heights and repeatedly dropping her nail gun off the roof. With his words of encouragement, a smile on his face and retrieving that nail gun from the ground it led to her getting over her fear of heights and a life skill learned. He loved going hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends. Some of his most loved memories were of trips to the outdoors with his sons and grandsons. He loved watching his favorite football team, the Denver Broncos and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. Growing up in California, he loved to surf and swim. His love of listening to great music extended to the dance floor. He was always willing to twirl anyone around the dance floor with exceptional grace or show off his alligator dance on the floor to everyone’s delight! He loved ‘clowning’ around with his family, putting smiles on the faces of strangers while miming with his sister Debbie.  Being the hard worker he was, he enjoyed helping others in need. He took time off from work to volunteer with other Clifton Christian Church members to help victims of Hurricane Katrina fix and rebuild their homes.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Arthur Mantell and Nephews, William Black and Daniel Cruse.

He is survived by his mother, Joy Mantell, his sisters, April (Ben) Nichols, Patty (Kelly) Simpson, and Debbie Cruse. His sons Robert (Michelle) Mantell and Ralph Mantell, and daughter, Sarah (Joe) Hitt and grandchildren, Kayla Casey, Ryan, Riley and Reese Mantell, and Mason and Alletta Hitt

A joint memorial service will be held for Randy Mantell and Irma Peters, July 17th, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at Clifton Christian Church, 3241 F ¼ Rd., Clifton, Colorado, 81520
