Richard Dean Forkner was born December 31, 1965 in Las Vegas, NV to Melvis M Forkner Jr and Irene Forkner. He died at home on January 14, 2024 after suffering healthwise for an extended period of time He attended R5 High School in Grand Junction, CO. He was an Army Veteran. He also served 8 years in the Army National Guard. He was a certified ham radio opertor. He had been employed as a Chef in restaurants in Arizona, California and Maine. He was disabled for the last ten years or so. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hiking, four wheeling and hunting. He loved to go prospecting for gold. He had been married a number of times. He had a son that Social Services took from him. After that son turned 18, he contacted Richard. In the last ten years they have kept in contact.
He was preceded in death by his father and numerous Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by his mother, one brother and one sister, and his natural son. Several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews. He had accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age.
Memorial Services will be held at Veterans Cemetery on January 30, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring or summer
