Richard James Whitacre

Richard James Whitacre aged 83 passed away peacefully on March 21, 2023, at Saint Mary's hospital after a brief illness. Affectionately known as “Dick” by his family and friends, he was very well known as a boisterous person with a heart of gold who would talk to anyone willing to lend an ear, he was above all, dedicated to his family. He was Drywaller and Painter by profession in the Grand Valley for over 40 years. He enjoyed sports, was an accomplished Bowler and held many city, regional and state titles in Colorado including an open invitation to the Professional Bowlers Association, he also enjoyed Golfing with friends and family, Fishing as well as watching sports on TV with the dogs. He is survived by his Loving Partner Colleen, Sons Jason and Darick, sister Cindy Enos-Martinez and her husband Jose, nephews JP and Steven. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Edith (Alfred) Enos and brother John Whitacre.

Memorial services will be held on April 14, 2023, 11:00am at Browns Cremation & Funeral Service 904 N 7^th Street Grand Junction, CO 81501.
