Robert Junior Armantrout, 83, of Grand Junction, Colorado passed away September 8, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief hospital stay. A Celebration of Life service will be held October 21, 2024 at Browns Cremation & Funeral Service Chapel 904 N 7th St. Grand Junction, CO 81501 at 10:30 AM
Robert was born September 12, 1940 to Barton Junior and Betty Lou (Badger) Armantrout in Battle Creek, Michigan. He graduated high school and went on to attend Business School while working as a chef at Schrenk's Cafeteria. In 1960, he met Yvonne Cecelia Kurr while rollerskating. They married in 1961 and made their home in Michigan. Bob became a rising star in the insurance industry with Combined Insurance Company. While with the company he was transferred to different areas needing help and management. Yvonne and Bob made their home in Colorado, Nevada, Kentucky, Illinois and settling in Grand Junction Colorado in 1983, After over 25 years with the company Bob suffered serious injuries from an accident while working which forced him into early retirement. While retired Bob was never happy being idle. He and Yvonne enjoyed finding bargains and managing their property interests. Bob fully embraced living and practicing a positive mental attitude. He so enjoyed attending family gatherings and watching his young great-grandchildren's spirited antics.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years Yvonne Cecelia(Kurr) Armantrout. Sister; Brenda (William) Niswander of East Leroy, Michigan. Children Jeffrey M. (Karen) Armantrout of Lacey Washington; Lisa (Frank Wagner) Roberts of Moab, Utah; Robert James (Beth Ann) Armantrout of Grand Junction, Colorado. Grandchildren Robert John (Michelle Olexa) Armantrout of Indianapolis, Indiana; Shane (Jenni) Armantrout of Grand Junction Co; Aimee Armantrout of Grand Junction, CO; Susan McCoy of Palisade, Colorado; Lisa Miller of Grand Junction, Colorado; Tim (Brandie)Miller of Grand Junction, Colorado and Michael Armantrout of Lacey, Washington. Great-grandchildren Jayden and Joseph McCoy of Palisade, Colorado; Jackie Ouellette of Palisade, Colorado; Damien Miracle of Grand Junction, Colorado; Olivia and Alexander Armantrout of Grand Junction, Colorado. Preceding him in death were his beloved mother Betty and granddaughters Jennifer and Stephanie Armantrout of Lacey Washington.
