Robert Bergener

Robert T. Bergener (Bob) was born July 15, 1946, in Kansas City , KS , and died in Grand Junction , CO , on June 14, 2018, due to heart complications. He spent his early years in Roswell , NM , and moved to Aspen , CO , in 1966 for a summer job. He met his wife, Elizabeth ( Barrie ) in Aspen and they were married in 1969. They had 2 children, Jacob and Michael, and spent the majority of their lives in the Roaring Fork Valley between Aspen and Carbondale . In 2005 they moved to Rifle, CO, and in 2013, they retired to Grand Junction , CO . Bob enjoyed riding motorcycles of all kinds, tinkering with antique cars and trucks, and golf. His driveways and garages were always filled with motorcycles and automobiles. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Karl, and mother, Janece, sister, Barbara, and brother, Pete. He is survived by Barrie and Jake (Leah) and Michael as well as brothers, John and Steve and sisters Jane Andrews (Michael), Betsy Franchini (Greg), Teresa Reddoch (Dave), Karla Church (Chris) and Martha Albue (Bryan). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sadie and Wheeler and Ash, Barrett and Rhodes. Bob was a loving family man who will be missed by many. Contributions in Bob’s name can be made to the American Heart Association or your favorite charity. Services will be held on June 30 at Battlement Mesa Golf Course from 12-3. Bob’s favorite hotdogs will be served with chips and condiments and various appetizers, beer and cocktails available. Feel free to bring a side dish or desert. And bring your favorite Bob stories.
